ēQATOR Partner Luca Nohel from MCI Celebrates Award-Winning Master’s Thesis

Research carried out within the ēQATOR project has been honoured at regional level, with Luca Nohel, MSc, receiving the 2025 Research Award in the category: Engineering Sciences by the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce (Wirtschaftskammer Tirol) for his outstanding master’s thesis.

The thesis was carried out in close cooperation between the University of Stuttgart and MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® within the framework of the ēQATOR project, underlining the strong link between academic excellence and applied industrial research that characterises the project.

Each year, the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce honours excellent master’s theses and dissertations from Tyrolean higher education institutions that stand out for their high degree of innovation and practical relevance. Award candidates are selected through a competitive process and present their work to an expert jury composed of business leaders and university representatives, with a strong focus on real-world applicability.

Luca Nohel received the award for his thesis entitled
“Development and Experimental Validation of a Numeric Model for Electrically Heated Monolithic Methane Reforming Catalysts Using MATLAB.”
His work provides a significant contribution to the understanding, modelling and design of the ēQATOR pilot plant, supporting the development of innovative catalytic reactor technologies within the project.
