Time & Location

24 Oct 2024, 14:00 – 15:30

BluePoint, Blvd Auguste Reyers 80, 1030 Brussels, Belgium

About the event

Renewable energy (solar, wind and hydropower) is delivered in the form of electricity, and the optimum use of that energy is directly as electricity, rather than via production of intermediate energy carriers such as hydrogen or its derivatives (methanol, ammonia, etc.). Beyond the immediate effect of reducing emissions, electrification can also contribute to grid balancing services. The workshop will introduce a set of different projects that will explain how electricity can be efficiently exploited in the process industries, such as

· What electrification technologies are under investigation?

· What are the processes that underpin the electrification transition?

· What are the benefits that these projects can provide for the process industries, beyond the clear climate and environmental benefits?

Electrochemistry, resistive heating, microwave heating and plasma technologies will be covered. More information and Registration link: Second Process Industry Conference: Shaping the Transformation on 23 and 24 October 2024 in Brussels | A.SPIRE (aspire2050.eu)
