About the event

To mark the conclusion of the ēQATOR project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon programme, the project’s final conference is taking place on 22 June 2025, from 09:30 to 16:45 at the Maison des Associations Internationales, Brussels, to explore a breakthrough approach to biogas valorisation and its role in Europe’s energy transition.

The ēQATOR project has pioneered a technology that directly converts biogas into syngas through electrically heated catalytic reforming reactors, replacing fossil-based heating with renewable electricity and enabling cost-competitive production of renewable methanol.

The conference will cover :

  • The key results and technological breakthroughs of the ēQATOR project

  • Opportunities for deployment and collaboration across the biogas sector

  • The role of innovative valorisation pathways for biogas

  • Perspectives from experts shaping the future of green fuels and catalytic processes
